Project Land purchase and new construction of the school

1. INITIAL SITUATION
Due to the dilapidation of the school Collège C. Jean, founded more than 25 years ago, we want to realize a new building. More about the reasons and the history of the school can be found on the page School Collège C. Jean.
2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
2.1 What is it about
- Purchase of a plot of land
- Construction of a school with at least 6 classrooms and sanitary facilities
2.2 Project goals
- Preventing the needy children from losing their educational institution and getting even further into the poverty spiral.
- Preventing all teachers from becoming unemployed.
2.3 Costs of the project
- Purchase of land: 22’500.- CHF
- Construction of the school: probably about 27’500.- CHF
3. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
3.1 The plot
We are overjoyed to have found a suitable property in the same neighborhood as the old school in March 2022! It is only about 10min walk away.
In July 2022, the donations have reached the cost of the land, so now all further donations can be used for the construction of the school.
3.2 The construction plan
This is the plan which was made by our architect.
3.3 The construction of the fence
The first thing we did was to build the fence wall, so that the property is not entered by uninvited guests and we can also store building materials well on the site.
3.4 The construction of the school building
In January 2023 it is planned that we will start the construction of the school building. We will regularly post pictures online so that you can follow the construction progress.
